I'm Sherida Newmister, LCSW and with my 26 year career in mental health therapy, I have had the privilege of helping hundreds of clients achieve their goals and improve their emotional well being. My intervention approach is strength-based and tailored to each individual's unique needs, ultimately enhancing their overall mental health.
I am dedicated to helping my clients heal from their trauma wounds, empowering them to pursue the life they've always envisioned and thrive!
My college educational journey began with a focus on playing college volleyball, but injury cut that short. I graduated in with a BA in Psychology in 1995, then obtained my Master of Social Work from Washington University, St Louis in 1998.
I've been working in the field of mental health since 1994, and have practiced therapy with a wide variety of issues since 1998. I utilize various therapeutic approaches including CBT, MI, REBT, and EMDR. In recent months, I've become aware of the impact that gut health has on our stress resilience & overall mental wellness. Therefore, I can now help my clients improve their mental wellness from the inside and out!
